Cricket: Baby joy for England bowler Anderson

England bowler Jimmy Anderson has become a father for the second time, his spokesman said today.

His wife Daniella gave birth to the girl, who has yet to be named, at 2.30pm yesterday.

The child, who will be a sister to 23-month-old Lola Rose, weighed 7lb 9oz.

A spokesman said the couple were "delighted".

"Although this comes during a hectic period, Jimmy is thrilled to have been present at the birth and is looking forward to spending time with his new daughter before returning to Australia in the next few days," he added.

Today Mrs Anderson, a model, and the baby remained in hospital in Manchester where they were said to be doing well.

Anderson, 28, flew back for the birth from Australia after helping the

team win the second Ashes Test.

He arrived on Wednesday and is expected to return to play in the third Test in Perth, which starts on Thursday.
