George Walker and Ryan White continued to run the midfield to good effect and setup James Hazelgrave to surge down the middle and cross a ball to Ryan Brogdan who shot wide of the Bramley Phoenix goal.

It wasn't long before swift interplay between the Colton midfield and attack resulted in yet another ball finding its way to the Colton left wing where James Green ran on to the ball, crossed and the Colton forwards couldn't manage to finish it.

After all the early Colton pressure Bramley Phoenix responded with there first entry into the Colton half and a surprise goal. 1 – 0 to Bramley Phoenix in the 10th minute.

The left flank continued to be the source of many of Colton's attack and it was soon after the Bramley Phoenix goal that Josh Gould ran on to yet another cross and just could n't finish. As Bramley Phoenix tried to break out of the strangle hold Colton had applied they once again went down the Colton half and applied a sucker punch and 2 – 0 to Bramley Phoenix.

Colton had the majority of the first half play yet were 2 – 0 down and facing an up hill battle.

The second half saw Bramley Phoenix come out seeking to maintain their surprise lead but Colton had been read the riot act by Rob 'the cat' Hamblett and Nige the trainer and you could see the determination across the team. It was n't too long before a superb corner by Josh Gould found the Colton captain Sam Rudd at the back post and he headed home emphatically. 2–1 with 45 minutes played.

Dalton Fotherby, Lewis Tyas, Sam Bateman and Ryan White continued to tackle like lions with George Walker and Josh Gould looking to thread balls through to the Colton strike force of Ryan Brogdan and James Hazelgrave. One of those balls found it's way to James Hazelgrave who surged forward and struck a ball onto the Bramley Phoenix cross bar.

With Colton pressing hard the game was really opening up and a neat dribble from George Walker lead to James Green receiving the ball 25 yards from goal and his surge past 2 Bramley Phoenix defenders left him with some work to do before nestling the ball in the back of the net for a wonderful equaliser.

Colton tails were up with 15 minutes to go. This goal now leaves the James' of Green and Hazelgrave on 26 and 27 goals a piece and testament to the attacking play of a resurgent Colton team.

With Sam Bateman having come off and Harrison Brazier now on at left back, Colton were pushing for the win. With little more than 5 minutes to go James Green received a ball on the left wing which he cut inside a struck a perfect left foot drive. The Bramley Phoenix goalkeeper produced a magnificent save to push it over the top and a draw looked the most likely result.

With little more than a minute left Colton were awarded a corner which Josh Gould took and hit yet another superb corner.

It was at that point that captain marvel, Sam Rudd, ghosted in at the far post and hit the winner. 3 – 2 and the crowd went wild.

As the game came to an end the teams both accepted a hard fought game had been won and lost in either half. Bramley Phoenix, against all the possession, took the first half with the honours and points going to Colton in the second half.

Blistering attack play and solid central defence & midfield play had won the match for Colton and they deservedly took all the points to maintain their push for the top spot and promotion.

Next weekend Colton have a free weekend but travel the week after to local rivals Temple Tigers FC.
