Colton Juniors put best foot forward to raise cash for charity

More than £500 has been raised for charity thanks to the fundraising efforts of young footballers from Colton Juniors.

The club undertook a sponsored walk around the local community which also included parents and managers.

A total of 150 has been raised for Teenage Cancer with 421 being donated to the children's ward at St James's Hospital.

Stewart Daniels, secretary of Colton Juniors said: "This is part of our way of thinking that we are not just a club who thinks about ourselves. We think about the community as a whole and try to give something back.

"Our club as many others have had parents and helpers and even players hit by this horrendous disease we wanted to try and help the kids out there in hospital."
