Leeds Force have made Clayfell Harris their first signing for the 2016-17 BBL season.
The 6ft 8in forward had a strong rookie BBL campaign for the Yorkshire club, averaging 3.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, and head coach Matt Newby is looking forward to working with the 28-year-old again and seeing how he can develop.
He said: “Returning Clayfell was an easy decision for me, since he is fully committed to the future of the club – both on the court and also in the community. There are definitely higher returns to be had and further developments to be made in his game.
“I feel that in a stable environment, Clayfell has the opportunity to find a new gear during the new season and show aspects of his game that were not always apparent last year. He closed out last season well and this opportunity is one I am certain he will also relish.”
Harris is keen to contribute to the impressive upward trajectory which the club has demonstrated in its first two seasons in the top flight.
“It is great to be back in Leeds,” said the forward.
“I am already working hard to be ready for September and it will be great to be back in front of the Leeds fans for what will no doubt be another amazing season.
“I am excited to see what we can achieve after such an amazing season last time out.”
Harris is the first announced signing for the Force, as the club looks to bring together a roster that can continue the club’s challenge for honours.
Further signings are expected in the coming weeks as all attention starts to turn towards the start of the new season in September.
