Leeds Carnegie have made their third signing ahead of their inaugural BBL season with the capture of Zak Wells.
The seven-foot centre joins Carnegie after a successful season for Division One side Hemel Storm.
Wells has represented England at Under-18s as well as featuring in last summer’s Great Britain Under-20s squad at the European Championship in Romania.
Leeds Carnegie head coach Matt Newby said: “Zak is one of the strongest prospects of his generation and we feel that the performance environment at Leeds Carnegie Basketball will be key to unlocking his potential, broadening his skill set and developing his game.
“He stands out as a team oriented player, who is humble and professional in his demeanour.
“We feel he will contribute immediately as a legitimate pivot and look forward to seeing him flourish within our programme.”
Carnegie have already signed American point guard James McCann following his senior year at University of California San Diego and Austrian shooting guard Matthias Weissl.
