Amaranth U-10s enjoy coaching kit boost
Barclays has come to the aid of Amaranth Sports Club by donating a complete set of coaching kit and equipment to its under 10s football team. Click here for full story.
The award has been made as part of the 30m grassroots sport programme, Barclays Spaces for Sports.
The donation is one of 1,200 packs awarded each year over the last 3 years to ensure teams across the UK will benefit from the scheme.
Amaranth Football Club started in its present guise in 1991 by honorary Club President Paul Gavins, who set up an under 10 team to enable his eldest son and his friends play competitive football.
Amaranth shares their ground with Amaranth Cricket Club, a partnership that enables both children and adults to participate in active sport all year round.
Mark Bell, club secretary, said: "Like most clubs sponsorship is difficult to come by, so the coaching pack from Barclays is a great boost and will help the Under 10's tremendously."
Carl Harrison, Amaranth U-10s manager, said: "Junior football depends on three things. Boys and girls that want to play football, volunteers who have a passion for football and businesses like Barclays who provide funding and equipment to ensure kids of all ages can enjoy football.
On behalf of Amaranth FC under 10's, I would like to personally thank Barclays for their support."
Michelle Smith, head of community sports sponsorship, said "Barclays are delighted to be supporting Amaranth and hope the coaching kit will encourage their interest in sport and lead them to greater success!"
Barclays Spaces for Sports, a partnership between Barclays, Football Foundation and Groundwork, will create sustainable sport sites and provide coaching kit and equipment to communities in most need of help across the UK.
