SKIPPER Kevin Sinfield is expecting a positive response from Leeds Rhinos when they face up to in-form Warrington Wolves at HJ Stadium tonight.
It is injury-hit Rhinos' first game since their Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final exit to St Helens seven days ago and Sinfield admitted that defeat left the club "deflated".

But he is backing the team to bounce back as they turn their focus towards defending their engage Super League title.

"We have been a bit patchy of late," said Sinfield. "We had that dip when we lost a few on the bounce, but the belief is still there in the squad.

"Injuries are not going to help, but we've got a great squad and we'll be giving some people opportunities.

"Hopefully, they will take their chance and they'll do really well for us.

"I think a lot of people have written us off now, but often that's when we perform at our best. We are looking for a response this week."

Sinfield admitted the 26-16 semi-final loss to St Helens was a draining battle and he added: "Everybody was a bit deflated afterwards, it was a tough one and we know we didn't play as well as we can.

"We feel like we let people down. Our supporters were fantastic, as they have been all year, so we have just got to get out this time and show what we can do.

"It is going to be really tough, I think Warrington have turned the corner a bit and they have got some great players, so it is a big test.
"We have got a few missing, but we'll have to roll our sleeves up and go out and put in a great performance."

Rhinos will be without centre Clinton Toopi (knee) and winger Ryan Hall (foot), who both suffered season-ending injuries in the semi-final defeat.

Also on the sidelines tonight will be Brent Webb (back), Jamie Jones-Buchanan (hamstring) and Ryan Bailey (ankle), while Ali Lauitiiti (hamstring) and Danny McGuire (shin) faced late fitness tests.

"It's tough," said Sinfield. "But we have had injuries all year and we've not made any excuses about it.

"We have just got to get on with it. We have got a very capable squad.
"We talk about how good our squad is and we have got to rely on that.

"We've got some great young players and it means they are going to get another crack at it. All we can do is our best and I'm still confident with the team we've got.

"We have got some great players in there and hopefully we can show a response when we get back out there."

A win would take Rhinos back to the top of the table, for a day at least and maintain a gap over Les Catalans Dragons and fourth-placed Warrington, who still have faint hopes of a top-three finish.

Sinfield said: "It's all to play for. For us now, we've just got one focus, which is the Grand Final.

"We need to concentrate on that and just worry about our next game and not think about the run-in.

"They are always tough games at this time of year, because teams are either trying to avoid the wooden spoon or get into the top-six.

"We have some tough teams to play, but we've just got to try and put some form together."
