Newbury offers free entry to York ticket holders

Newbury racecourse, which will host two of the major races lost by the cancelleation of York's Ebor Festival, is offering free entry to anyone holding a ticket to any one of the four days at the North Yorkshire track.
Persistent rain which resulted in the waterlogging of the track and subsequent abandonment of the four-day totesport Ebor meeting at the Knavesmire.
Newbury is delighted to play host to the replacement race for the Ebor tomorrow, the totesport Newburgh Handicap (with a prize value of £100,000) and also the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes (Group 2, value £70,000).
A card of 10 races will now be staged this Friday with gates opening at 11am and the first race scheduled to start at 12.40pm. Tickets and restaurant packages will be available on the day.
The Berkshire track is offering free Premier Enclosure entry to anybody holding tickets to any of the four days of the York meeting – presentation of tickets is required.
