Most rock bands choose a flash hotel or glitzy nightclub to reveal details of a new tour.
Down-to-earth Leeds lads Kaiser Chiefs, however, do things rather differently.
Yesterday they announced a major UK arena tour at an unassuming rehearsal studio tucked away in a back street in the Richmond Hill area of their home city.
And, gentlemen that they are, they also found time to treat the Yorkshire Evening Post to an exclusive live set comprising tracks from their eagerly-awaited third album, Off With Their Heads.
Songs aired included Like It Too Much, You Want History, Always Happens Like That, Half The Truth and upcoming single Never Miss A Beat.
Speaking after the nine-track set, bassist Simon Rix told the YEP he couldn't wait for the band's army of British fans to hear their latest musical offerings live.
He said: "When we've been trying to do setlists and looking at the new album, we've been going 'wanna play that one, wanna play that one, wanna play that one'.
"I think we wanted to play them all except one – but you can't do that, because there's only a certain amount of time and people will, hopefully, still want to hear (older songs like] I Predict A Riot and Oh My God.
"We still want to play them, anyway!"
The 10-date tour announced yesterday includes a night at Sheffield Arena on February 23 next year and, on March 6, the band's first-ever show at Wembley Arena.
They follow next month's previously-confirmed clutch of gigs at more intimate UK venues such as Manchester Academy.
On October 8, meanwhile, the Kaisers will be playing the opening night of the new Leeds Academy concert hall.
It is on the site of Leeds's old Town & Country Club – and for Kaisers drummer Nick Hodgson, the show will be a return to familiar territory.
He said: "I used to work (at the Town & Country]. I was a glass collector, which is the best job in a place like that, no one knows where you are!
"I saw David Bowie there, Supergrass, Blur, Motorhead and pretty much everyone in between.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the new place. I've no idea what the room's like, but hopefully it will be really good."
Tickets for next year's arena tour go on sale at 9am on Friday. For more details visit the www.gigsandtours.com website or ring 0871 220 0260.
