Leeds actress Liz Dawn may have bowed out of Coronation Street – but that didn't stop her stealing the show at this year's British Soap Awards.
Liz, 68, was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the ceremony held on Saturday night at London's BBC Television Centre.
She spent 34 years playing loveable loudmouth Vera Duckworth on Corrie before ill health forced her to quit the series last December.
Liz paid tribute to Bill Tarmey, who played her long-suffering soap hubby Jack.
Leeds-born Jack P Shepherd scooped the Villain of the Year Award for his role as bad boy David Platt in Coronation Street.
Tim Fee, a long-serving line producer on Yorkshire soap Emmerdale, was recognised with the night's Special Achievement Award.
Emmerdale's storyline about the death of Laurel and Ashley Thomas's baby, Daniel, also helped it take the award for Best Single Episode.
The event's much-coveted Best British Soap prize went to EastEnders.
lThe British Soap Awards will be shown on ITV1 on Wednesday at 8pm.
