Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett is to quit the Yorkshire Dales soap later this year.
The 25-year-old actress, who plays battered wife Jo Sugden, is understood to be leaving the ITV1 drama in about six months.

Emmerdale bosses said they could not confirm the move but series producer Anita Turner said: "Roxanne has given a fantastic performance and it will be an eventful six months for Jo."

Pallett joined Emmerdale in 2005 and her character was later involved in a love triangle with Andy and Katie Sugden.

Jo and Andy eventually got married while he was serving a prison sentence for manslaughter.

Her current storyline involves being the victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband.

According to one report, Pallett is leaving because she wants to move to London and work on the West End stage.

Lets have a proper clear out of the rest of the dead wood in this series. Too much time and story lines wasted on non essential characters.Get rid of the pains, Marlon, Eli who should be in prison, and big mouth Val for starters.
