DAILY MIRROR: FA chiefs
will launch a major disciplinary crackdown in a bid to prevent any recurrence of the disgraceful scenes at White Hart Lane. Also: Martin O'Neill wants to put an end to Paul Robinson's misery at Spurs by taking him to Aston Villa.

DAILY STAR: Fabio Capello is to warn his England stars to watch their behaviour - at all times. Also: Ledley King will not play for England again unless he can prove his long-term fitness.

DAILY MAIL: Fabio Capello will lecture England's players on their behaviour after witnessing Chelsea's disgraceful hounding of referee Mike Riley at Tottenham on Wednesday night. Also: England hope to confirm Martin Johnson's appointment as their new manager next week, in charge of an expanded coaching team to include rugby's original cheeky chappie Austin Healey.

DAILY EXPRESS: England's footballing stars will be ordered by boss Fabio Capello to lead by example in the crackdown on player discipline. THE TIMES: Ashley Cole turned his back on appeals for "respect" from a referee on Wednesday night, but the Chelsea defender and his England teammates will get the same request from a voice that they are more likely to listen to when the national squad comes together to prepare for the friendly match against France next week. Also: It came as news to both clubs yesterday, but Jermain Defoe will be unable to play for Portsmouth against Tottenham Hotspur, his former club, in the Barclays Premier League match at White Hart Lane tomorrow.

DAILY TELEGRAPH: Fabio Capello will talk to his England players about the need for discipline, urging them to follow the Football Association's new campaign to 'respect the referee'. Also: Louis Saha last night withdrew from France's squad to face England next Wednesday in Paris.

THE INDEPENDENT: Ashley Cole escaped with an apology yesterday for the dissent he showed towards referee Mike Riley at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night; next season a player displaying such disrespect towards officials could cost his club points. Also: The usual psyops battle is under way ahead of Liverpool's visit to Manchester United on Sunday, with Rafael Benitez suggesting yesterday that Sir Alex Ferguson was being "clever" by demanding protection for Cristiano Ronaldo.
