New signing Tony Williams inspired Bramley Buffaloes to a 28-24 win at Huddersfield Underbank Rangers which maintained their unbeaten record in Co-op Conference National.
Williams – who was man of the match for Bradford Dudley Hill when they beat Bramley in the 2005 Grand Final and later had a spell at Hunslet – grabbed a brace of tries on his debut and had a hand in Buffaloes' other two touchdowns, scored by David Wa
lker and John Richardson.
Shaun Flynn booted six goals for Bramley and his kicking proved crucial, after Huddersfield scored five tries to four.
A 30-20 home defeat by Gateshead Storm left champions Featherstone Lions still looking for their first win of the campaign.
Lions let slip a 10-point lead and had to settle for a consolation bonus point.

Leeds Akkies bounced back from their opening game defeat at Carlisle with an impressive 42-18 home win over Newcastle in the RL Conference Northern Premier Division.
Akkies led 20-0 at half -time courtesy of tries by full-back David McNidder, two from man of the match Billy Greenshields and a 70-metre effort from James Howard.
Greenshields completed his hat-trick after the break, Howard added a second and Geoff Hick and Damien Shipman also crossed.
Akkies' reserves were crushed 38-8 by visitors Scarborough in the Yorkshire Division.
James Mitchell and Tom Bates scored Akkies' tries.
