Improving Featherstone Rovers can spring a surprise when Co-op National One leaders Salford City Reds visit Chris Moyles Stadium tomorrow, coaching advisor Jon Sharp believes.
Rovers are on a high after last weekend's 42-30 win over Celtic Crusaders, but face a massive challenge against a Reds outfit who have scored 130 points in their last two games.

"I think we should be heading into the game full of energy and self-b
elief," said Sharp, who has added loan duo Anthony Thackeray and Matty Dale to his squad this week.

"Last week's performance was no fluke.

"Defensively it has given us belief and offensively, it was probably the best they've played for a couple of years.

"I think if we play as well as we did against Celtic, we will cause them some problems. It's a game we're capable of winning."

Sharp, who joined the club last month to assist new coach Danny Evans, believes Rovers are on the up.

"Some of the things we did last week were very, very good," said the former Huddersfield Giants boss.

"The players are doing the little things and they've been very receptive to some new ideas.

"They've taken things on board, but the trick now is to sustain it."

Featherstone Rovers (v Salford) from: Wildbore, Pryce, Dooler, Saxton, Kirk, Kain, Thackeray, Tonks, McLocklan, Dickens, Field, Blakeway, Hesketh, Haughey, Lee, Hirst, Houston, Dale.

Referee: Robert Hicks (Oldham).

Kick-off: Tomorrow, 5pm.
