EAST Leeds are celebrating a double success.

Easts crushed visitors Waterhead 40-14 to record their second win of the season in Fraser Eagle National Conference Division Two, hours before their former junior Danny McGuire scored two tries in Leeds Rhinos' Super League Grand Final triumph over
St Helens.

Two-try duo Gareth Lally and Lee Fisher were outstanding for Easts. Ben Walkin also bagged a brace and other tryscorers were Johnny Carter and Jason Priestley. Steve Parnell added four goals.

Oulton Raiders – whose former winger Ryan Hall was also among Rhinos' Old Trafford scorers – saw off St Helens-based visitors Thatto Heath Crusaders 20-16 to complete a third successive Premier Division win. Danny Stanley scored a try and kicked two goals for Oulton, with Tommy Griffiths, Scott MacDonald and Alan White – who grabbed the winner moments after having a touchdown controversially disallowed – also crossing the whitewash.

Raiders are now up to ninth, four points behind leaders Skirlaugh who inflicted more misery on bottom club Thornhill Trojans. Under-strength Trojans were crushed 56-4, Wayne Wilson scoring the visitors' lone try.

Second-row Danny Howley and young winger Jordan Palmer impressed for Trojans, who gave a debut to Adam Bird and welcomed Shaun Walton back to the club.
