Bradford Bulls have pulled off a coup with the signing of Australian legend Steve Menzies for next season.
Menzies, who will be 35 when the new campaign kicks off, has agreed a one-year contract at the Grattan Stadium.
The versatile Manly star can play in a variety of positions and has made 339 appearances – making him the second highest appearance mak
er in the NRL and he is also second in the all-time try-scorers list with 171.
In addition, he holds both the highest appearances and most tries for a forward and has made 20 appearances for New South Wales in State of Origin games and holds 15 Test caps.
Menzies said: "It's going to be a great experience for me.
"I have always wanted to play over in the UK and when the opportunity came along to do that with Bradford – one of the strongest clubs – I grabbed it and I am now looking forward to getting over there and being a part of the club.
"I want to come over and win trophies with the Bulls and Steve McNamara and hopefully I can lend a little experience and knowledge to help us do that."
Coach McNamara, above, is also thrilled to have signed the Australian legend. He said: "I am absolutely delighted with the capture of Steve.
"He is an absolute legend of the game in Australia, a proven winner who, despite his age, is still playing week in and week out for the top side in the NRL."
