View from the pitch
It will be good to get back on the horse when we play Hull KR at the Jungle on Sunday.
The defeat at Leeds was a massive disappointment for the players and the whole club and we're looking forward to getting out on the pitch and putting that behind us.
We had a great chance to go to Leeds and get a win and we were devastated not to achieve that. The way the game went, we didn't play well but we still created so many chances and we didn't take them. That's something we've been working hard on in training this week and we're also aiming to improve our defence.
We only conceded 18 points but some of their tries – like Matt Diskin's between the posts – were things we had worked on last week, so that was really disappointing.
You shouldn't concede tries like that at Super League level, so that is something we are working hard on to put right.
Sunday's game kicks off at noon, which is going to be a bit strange. It's something I've only done once before in my career and it does mean your preparation is a bit different, but we are all professionals and we should be able to cope with it.
To be honest, it's probably tougher for Hull KR because they are going to have to get up early to travel over to Cas for such an early start.
I'm sure that won't bother them too much, because they will see this as a game to get them back on track. They are in a bit of a tough patch at the moment, but if you look at their team, they are a quality side and they recruited really well in the off-season.
If they have everybody on board and they play to the best of their ability they are potentially a top-six team, but I think we are playing them at a good time. We're looking forward to it and I think it's going to be a good game.
It was good to see Hull KR winger Peter Fox get called up for England last week and do so well.
People have been asking me if I was disappointed not to have been selected but, as far as I am concerned, it was just good to have my name mentioned as a possible candidate. It is good for my confidence that people rate me that highly.
It is maybe a bit soon. They have got people like Keith Senior and Martin Gleeson and some good wingers to chose from, but I'd like to think I can get to that level at some stage.
It was great for Joe Westerman to get called up and even though he didn't make the team, I know he really enjoyed the experience, which was thoroughly deserved.
