A MUCH-IMPROVED performance from Thornhill Trojans wasn't enough to break their duck as they went down 28-24 to visitors Oulton Raiders in the Fraser Eagle National Conference Premier Division.
Trojans' sixth successive defeat came in a stormy game which saw five players sin-binned in three separate incidents.

Several Raiders players were delayed in traffic and the game kicked off 75 minutes late, the start being put back after Trojans h
ad already completed their pre-match warm-up.

Shane Davies scored a brace of tries for Trojans, with Scott Dyson and Matthew Roberts also crossing and James Craven adding four goals.

Chris Walker, Scott McDonald, Gavin Wood, Sach Brook and Danny Stanley touched down for improving Oulton, with Mark Holmes and Stanley each kicking two goals.

Trojans' Scott Green (fighting), Roberts (persistent high tackles) and Liam Morley (throwing the ball at an opponent) were yellow carded, along with opponents Stanley (fighting) and Scott Goodall (persistent grapple tackles).

Trojans' home game with Thatto Heath on Saturday will kick-off at 1.30pm – to allow players and fans time to travel to Old Trafford for the engage Super League Grand Final.

Milford Marlins moved four points clear at the top of Division Two, thanks to a 24-20 win over previously unbeaten Myton Warriors. Marlins scored five tries to three, with man-of-the-match Matt Hayes crossing twice.

Other tryscorers were James Morley, Chris Smith and Paul Coates, who also added two goals.

Milford now boast the division's only 100 per cent record and will remain top despite not having a game for the next two weekends.

Michael Holmes' scored two spectacular long-range tries in Stanningley's 22-16 win over Castleford Panthers in Division One.

Matthew Russell scored a try and kicked three goals and Chris Rouse also crossed for a try, which was created by man-of-the-match Simon Bowker.
