HUNSLET Hawks failed to avoid the wooden spoon after a 10-try mauling and a 52-4 defeat at high flying Doncaster.
The Hawks needed a huge final-day victory at the Keepmoat Stadium to haul themselves off the foot of National League Two and above London Skolars. Instead they suffered their seventh straight defeat.
Former Hunslet star Kyle Briggs set up Craig
Lawton for Doncaster's opening try on 12 minutes before Lawton, Peter Green, Andreas Bauer, Wayne Reittie, Kyle Wood added further first-half tries.
Briggs punished his old side further by adding three conversions as Doncaster cruised into a 30-0 half-time lead.
Graeme Hallas' men did not help themselves by conceding 15 penalties throughout the match and they also had substitute Karl Gunney sin-binned on 33 minutes.
Former Leeds Rhinos youngster Luke Gale extended the lead on 51 minutes, breaking Doncaster's tries-in-a-season record in the process, before Briggs, Josh Weeden, Alex Benson notched further tries.
But never-say-die Hunslet were rewarded in the dying moments when hooker Richard Chapman touched down.
