The third Tour de Yorkshire cycle race will get underway today as competitors tackle the east coast circuit in front of an expected crowd of thousands.

Starting off in Bridlington, the 173km stage will include three 'King of the Mountain' climbs and two sprints, taking in such wonderful places as Garrowby Hill, Goathland, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby Abbey.

Day two will see the riders travel from Tadcaster to Harrogate while the third stage takes in a route from Bradford to Sheffield.
