A white Christmas is looking unlikely as Leeds is expected to enjoy bright spells and mild conditions at the beginning of next week.
But temperatures are forecast to drop as we approach the festive break with some wintry showers moving in from the north.
Daytime temperatures are expected to be at around 8C with lows of 1C overnight at the end of the week.
The detailed Met Office forecast for Leeds:
A dull start, with the odd spot of rain possible at first. Cloudy skies will thin and break with some bright or sunny spells later, and turning rather mild. The best of the brightness across more eastern areas. Light winds. Maximum temperature 9C.
A dry and fine night is in prospect with light southwesterly winds and variable cloud amounts. Some mist and fog patches are likely, mainly across more southern areas. Minimum temperature 4C.
A similar day to Sunday although mist and fog may be slow to clear. The best of the sunny spells probably across more eastern parts. Winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 8C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Fog clearing during Tuesday with variable cloud amounts and some brightness. Wednesday breezier with some rain, this clearing eastwards by Thursday morning. Colder weather with sunny or clear spells following.
