Woman among injured after fight in Leeds city centre

POLICE temporarily closed a section of Lower Briggate in Leeds city centre this morning after a number of people were injured following a fight.

West Yorkshire Police said the 23-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment for an arm injury.

Insp Graham Hawcroft said: “This morning at about 6.45am there was a fight in Lower Briggate involving a number of people.

“A 23-year-old female is being treated in hospital. Others suffered minor injuries. The road has been closed for police to carry out enquiries.”
