York City manager Colin Walker hopes to sign a striker within the next seven days after seeing his side held to a 0-0 draw at home to Cambridge on Saturday.
Chances were few and far between as York shared home spoils for the fifth time in seven matches.

York missed the only genuine clear chance of the match in the seventh minute when Simon Russell put a pass through the Cambridge defence for Craig Far
rell to run clear with only keeper Danny Potter to beat.

But Farrell took the ball too close to the keeper who was able to parry his shot at point-blank range.

Walker said: "For three parts of the game we were good, but the last pass, the last cross and the finish wasn't there.

"You would hardly believe on this evidence that we work on these in training every week.

"We have got to get attacking decisions better and we certainly missed Onome Sodje.

"Craig Farrell's missed chance was a crucial moment of the game.

"Although we have lost only two out of 13 the problem, as everyone knows, is that we have drawn too many games."

Simon Russell was much too high with a 25-yard shot for York in the 19th minute and he then put Danny McBreen through only for Wayne Hatswell to make a crucial tackle.

But both teams were so devoid of attacking ideas that the first corner didn't come until the 52nd minute.

York had two half-chances soon afterwards but the game petered out on a cold afternoon.

York City: Ingham, Purkiss, McGurk, Parslow, Robinson, Rusk, Holmes, Greaves, Russell (Wilkinson 85), McBreen (Brodie 77), Farrell (Boyes 79). Subs not used: Mimms, McWilliams.
