Leaders Whitkirk are pegged back by Town

WEST Yorkshire League Premier Division leaders Whitkirk Wanderers dropped their first points this term when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Knaresborough Town.
Steve Wales was Whitkirk's marksman with Jarred McGivern replying for Knaresborough.

Joining them as joint-leaders were Beeston St Anthony's, who claimed a deserved 3-2 victory at Boroughbridge.

Beeston scorers were Sean Jenkins (2) and Lee Par
ker, with Louis Whittaker and Ben Farville replying.

Newly-promoted Leeds City returned to winning ways with a brace of goals from Saunders giving them the points in a 2-1 win over Rothwell Athletic, whose scorer was Denis Katura.

Top scorers in the division were Bardsey who had a runaway 7-1 victory at Howden Clough, Robert Dickinson leading the way with a hat-trick.

A revitalised Aberford Albion carried on their unbeaten run with a 3-1 away win at newly-promoted Otley Town, thanks to Jordan Talbot, Stephen Woolford and Stephen Ewardman.

Champions Carlton Athletic are finding life thoroughly difficult this season, with their setback coming in a 4-1 home loss to Sherburn White Rose, Paul Woodhouse firing a brace.

John Doyle and James Charlesworth gave Ripon City a 2-1 success at Field Sports.

In Division One, Kyle Wilkinson's late strike saw East End Park claim a fortuitous 1-0 success against Kippax, while early leaders Robin Hood Athletic vanquished Kellingley Welfare 3-1, thanks to strikes from Paul Smith, Kris Kershaw and Rob Fryer.

Newly promoted Featherstone Colliery recorded their first win with a 5-3 away win at Old Headingley, Gareth Sward netting a hat-trick and Andy Gray bagging a brace. Peter Gillick hit a double for Headingley.

Woodhouse Hill WMC came out victors in a closely-fought 5-4 win against Churwell Lions, while Altofts came back from 2-0 down to win 4-2 at Horbury Town, who replied through Paul Bentley's brace.

Adam Stancliffe struck twice for the victors. Galvanised Pontefract Sports and Social join Robin Hood at the top of the table after a 2-0 win at Nostell, with goals notched by Irvine Machama and Jason Dobson.

Hartshead had Neil Dalton on target to give them a narrow home with over Ilkley Town.

Old Centralians with goals from Adam Matthews, James Abraham and Jonathan Brocket won 3-1 at home against Ossett Common Rovers
In Division Two, Oxenhope kept up their unbeaten start in the league with a 3 -3 draw at Great Preston, coming back from two goals down through goals from Ben White, Mark Holmes and Tom Wallbank.

Wyke Wanderers saw off Baildon Trinity 3-2, while Rothwell Town continued their unbeaten run with an impressive 8-0 win against league newcomers South Milford to go top.

Thomas Carr was the main plunderer with four goals.

Great Preston held previous leaders Oxenhope to a 3-3 home draw, goals for Preston coming from Mark Owen, Joe Thorpe and Ashley Liddle.

After a heavy midweek defeat, Boston Spartans saw off Swillington
5-3, courtesy of strikes from Mark Riggs (2), Ryan Dobson, Paul Smith and Andrew Kitchen with Derek Booth, Carl Carritt and Thomas Bell replying.

Hunslet and Brighouse Old Boys played out a 1-1 draw with goals from Adam Walton and Adam Bedford respectively.

Mount St Mary's got their first win with a goal from Nick Bates seeing off Barwick and similarly Tadcaster Magnets had their first win with a 2-1 victory at Stanley United. Tadcaster's goals came from Tom Lenhill and Will Walker with Stanley United's consolation coming from Steve Bentley.

In Alliance Division One, leaders Whitkirk Wanderers Reserves continued their wining ways with a 3-2 away win at Robin Hood Athletic Reserves, with James Kearney, Danny Leaf and Scott Glover on target, Chris Bosley-Yemm and Damien Gale replying.

Top scorers were Field Reserves, who thrashed hosts Knaresborough 8-3 away win, Harrison Fry plundering a hat-trick and Liam Lambert and Nick Doherty hitting doubles.

Ossett Common Rovers Reserves – with a Craig Williams double – played out a 2-2 draw against Boroughbridge Reserves who had Paul Smith (2) as their marksman. Sherburn White Rose Reserves had a narrow 3-2 home win over Horbury Town – Thomas Potter hitting two.

Beeston St Anthony's Reserves beat Hartshead Reserves with a brace from Tony Garth.
