UNIBOND pace-setters Guiseley have signed Leeds United reserve team winger Chris Ovington on a month's loan.
Ovington – who scored for United in last month's pre-season defeat at Guiseley – is set to make his debut away to Kendal Town tonight.

Former North Ferriby United skipper Chris Bolder made his first appearance for Guiseley in the 2-0 win over Witt
on three days ago and manager Steve Kittrick said he will continue to recruit, despite an unbeaten start to the season.

"This will make one or two people sit up and think we've got a good squad here," said Kittrick.

"If better players are available than the ones we've got, we will take them – but they have to be better.

"We've been offered a couple of strikers this week, but I am happy with the three we've got."

Tonight's match is Guiseley's first since they were named UniBond Premier Division team of the month for August, after winning four and drawing one of their opening five games.

Ilkeston have a similar record, but Guiseley's better points difference proved decisive, though Kittrick admitted the award isn't always seen as a good thing.

"They got it last year, when they won their first few games, got team of the month and things didn't go particularly well after that," said the boss.
"I expected it because we are top of the league, so we've just got to go up to Kendal and be professional about what we are doing, keep playing with a high tempo and keep playing with smiles on our faces.

"If we are serious about winning the league we've got to be able to go up to Kendal in midweek and continue to be strong, which I think we will do."

Guiseley will be without Alex Callery, who has undergone a knee operation.

Fellow close-season signing Ryan Crossley also has a knee injury and will miss out tonight, while Lee Crooks has left the club.

Frickley Athletic are also in UniBond Premier Division action tonight, when they visit North Ferriby.
