YORK CITY enjoyed a flying start to the season – and exorcised a ghost in the process in Sussex with a 1-0 win at Crawley.
The Minstermen were thrashed 6-1 on their last visit to Crawley, but this time around it was a different story as the visitors claimed three welcome points.

York's best moments in the first half saw Richard Brodie go close with a free-kick while, on the restart, Ben Wilkinson crashed an effort against the post. The decisive moment of the game came on 70 minutes when Craig Farrell cashed-in on Jamie Stevens' mistake before firing home.

Farrell went close to adding a second goal four minutes from time, while Brodie saw a goal ruled out in stoppage-time.
