SKIPPER Darren Dunning enjoyed a red-letter day, netting both goals as Harrogate Town kicked off the season with a convincing 2-0 victory over Vauxhall Motors.
The midfielder celebrated his 100th game in the best possible fashion in a virtuoso showing.

Town made light of the wretched conditions to dominate, playing some slick football along the way.

The hosts took the lead on 33 minutes from the penal
ty spot after Matt Young was brought down, with Dunning keeping his composure to fire the ball home.

The dominance continued from the hosts after the break, but their killer second goal never arrived until the 75th minute. Dunning was again on hand to convert in accomplished fashion.

Fine wing play initially saw Danny Lower beat several defenders, with his low cross latched onto by Richard Marshall, who laid the ball invitingly into the path of the onrushing Dunning who made no mistake.
