IN the West Riding League, Bay Athletic produced the stuff of champions to fight back from a 3-0 interval deficit to sink 2007-08 runners-up Storthes Hall 4-3 in a rip-roaring clash.
Goals from Chris Mulvihill (2) and Steven Slack put the visitors in dreamland, but strikes from John Buckley (2), Steve Perrin and Adam Bell turned the tables.

Ardsley Celtic slumped to their second reverse, losing 4-2 at home to Campion, who fire
d all their goals in the first half.

Dave Cateroche and Dale Hanson replied for Celtic.

John Flynn and Gavin Armitage hit doubles as Kirkburton thrashed Overthorpe Sports 7-0, five goals coming on the restart.

Declan Corby was the hat-trick hero for early pacesetters Wibsey, who won 5-2 at Lower Hopton, whose scorers were Jon Braime and Mark Gatenby.

Castleford Sunday League action saw Newfield make it two wins from two following an impressive 6-2 blitzing of hosts Castlefields, who slumped to their second straight reverse.

In Division Two, a nine-goal thriller saw Whitwood Metrostars edge out Railway Inn 5-4.

In the Harrogate Saturday League, Addingham routed Masham 5-0, while Otley Rovers prevailed 4-1 at Knaresborough Celtic.

Guiseley Red Lion squeezed past Pool Reserves 3-2, while Killinghall Nomads edged out rivals Clifford 2-1.

Beckwithshaw beat relegated Bramhope 3-2.

There was joy at last for Fieldhead Hospital, who lost all 20 league games last season.

The relegated side started off life in Division One of the Wakefield Saturday League with a 5-4 win at Waterloo.

Meanwhile, the draws have taken place for the first rounds of both the Leeds District Cup and the Leeds Senior Challenge Cup.
