Wrong to protest over fast food restaurant

Have your say

I BURST out laughing when I saw the photograph of local Tingley residents who were objecting to the plans for a new McDonald’s restaurant.

This new restaurant could help to create 65 new jobs for the area.

I laughed because I recognised one of the protesters and I know for a fact that they live a long distance away from the Tingley area.

This young person was made redundant several years ago and has struggled to find decent employment ever since.

Through the pages of the YEP can I ask, did any of our Leeds city councillors help to transport unemployed benefit claimers to and from this protest gathering and if so, why?

I live in the Tingley area and I am loving the idea that 65 new jobs could be created for the unemployed local residents.
