WE are told that Cornish pasties are now to be an EU-protected product that can only be made in the county of Cornwall.
I think that now a campaign should be started to provide similar protection for Yorkshire puddings.
This tasty dish, like all Yorkshire folk, is straightforward and unpretentious but yet satisfying and versatile. It deserves this protection to ensure that all such quality puddings are produced in our own county.
If a meat and potato pie that has gone wrong is worth protecting then so are our puddings.
