Barrier that could save lives

Have your say

AS weekend drinking seems to be mainly in pubs and clubs in the city centre these days and drinkers seem to end up walking in the direction of the river and sometimes end up losing their lives, people are now asking for the river to be fenced off.

Presumably it has not been done because of the expense, so would it be feasible to line the banks with the trunks of felled trees – like oak and other large trees? At least the barrier could not easily be moved or broken, or pulled down as a fence could be. Just a thought to save money and lives.
