A piglet has been kicked to death by children as young as 12.

A dog walker spotted two boys violently kicking the piglet in a freehold off Boundary Lane, in Normanton. Police are hunting suspects they believe could be 12-years-old.

The 13-week-old piglet called Matilda was one of four at the site.

Roger Owen, who owned the pig, said: “It was the runt of the litter and the only one we named. The whole family is very upset and I cannot believe someone would commit such an act. This makes me feel numb.”

The attack happened at around 6pm on Friday, March 9.

The two boys were described as being aged between 12 and 14, wearing jeans tucked into their wellies and light coloured T-shirts. Contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
