A TALENTED youngster has helped add an extra splash of colour to Manston Park in Cross Gates.

Pupils from Manston Primary School entered a competition to come up with a design for the flowerbeds around the park’s Barnbow Lasses Memorial.

Ryan Langstaff was the competition winner and his design is now in full bloom at the site. Nathan Atkinson-Parle, Ellie Wrigg and Isabelle Ward were all highly commended.

The competition is run by East Leeds History and Archaeology Society with the support of Coun Pauleen Grahame (Lab, Cross Gates & Whinmoor) and Leeds City Council’s parks and countryside department.
