Yorkshire commuters hit by cancelled trains and M62 delays

Commuters have been hit by cancelled trains in and around Hull this morning and the disruption is expected to last until midday.

A signalling fault between Hull and Gilberdyke is causing the disruption to journeys between Hull, Selby and Doncaster.

Trains are not currently running between Hull and Brough/Selby and trains between Hull and Doncaster are both starting from and terminating at Brough and will also be delayed.

Northern services have been replaced by replacement road transport between Hull and Brough, and TransPennine Express services are being replaced by road transport between Selby and Hull.

The problems began at around 6.30am this morning.

Meanwhile, in West Yorkshire reports suggest there is one lane closed, queueing traffic and long delays on the M62 Westbound between junction 27 at Gildersome and junction 26 at Chain Bar due to a broken down lorry which is causing long delays and congestion to junction 31 at Castleford.
