Police are looking for yobs who have used a catapult to fire metal bolts at homes and businesses from a moving car in Leeds.

Officers say there has been a spate of incidents of windows being smashed by projectiles in Pudsey, Armley and Bramley.

After initially reporting the incidents on Facebook, the local neighbourhood policing team said it had carried out inquiries in schools and shops – and thanked followers for sharing the information.

A spokesman said: “We have spoken to schools, shops and some youths and whilst there is no proof of who was responsible we have seen no crimes of this type in the last week.

“All you good people sharing the details has no doubt scared them off doing it, which is a great result.”
