Maggie’s aims to offer groundbreaking support for cancer sufferers in Leeds.

Sadly, countless people in Leeds need such care and countless more will count on its services in the future.

We spoke to Harriet Dow who told us of the valuable support Maggie’s gave to her at its centre in Swansea.

Yorkshire will soon have a similar centre based in the grounds of Leeds St James’s Hospital, aimed at offering free practical, emotional and social support in a non-clinical setting.

Harriet said: “Sometimes you just need somebody to listen and understand, and Maggie’s are unique like that and the people of Yorkshire just don’t know enough about them yet.”

That’s why we are launching the A Million for Maggie’s campaign to help make the Leeds centre a reality.

We aim to help the charity raise £1m so that people with cancer, as well as their families and friends, can access no-questions-asked support yards from St James’s bustling Bexley Wing cancer centre.

We can’t do it on our own: we need the support of the people of Leeds and West Yorkshire. If cancer has touched your life, then we know we can count on your support.
