Another event and another reason to remember Ann Maguire in a positive way.

Around 2,000 children completed a charity fun run in a poignant tribute to the late teacher.

The second annual Ann Maguire Memorial Fun Run, by Leeds Catholic primary school headteachers, saw youngsters from 32 schools tackle a 2km course.

Last year the event raised £10,000 for various good causes and it is hoped this year’s will follow suit.

One of the organisers said it seemed a fitting as a way in which they could remember Ann together. We agree entirely.

Bernard Kenny, the man who risked his own life to try and save MP Jo Cox, has died.
