YEP Says: Insurance plan too late for some
The Government Minister Robert Goodwill said the Flood Re scheme to help households get affordable flood insurance could be extended to small businesses.
Many hundreds of companies are struggling to get cover after storms brought devastation to Leeds over Christmas.
This is a serious matter – the lack of commercial insurance threatens the viability of a business.
Flood envoy Mr Goodwill warned that it could take some time before a Flood Re scheme comes into effect.
Too many businesses won’t have the luxury of that time.
