So what's new in politics?
THERE was no seismic shift in the General Election ('Cameron hails seismic shift in politics', YEP,May 13).
The voters of this country gave no political party a mandate to govern, despite the millions of pounds poured into the Conservative party by extremely rich people, the Tory vote fell short of what they expected.
There was no surge towards the Liberal Democrats as forecast by middle class academics, nor did the Labour party get relegated to third place, in fact they did extremely well in local government elections across the country.
What we have been lumbered with is a Tory/Liberal coalition led by David Cameron and Nick Clegg, both privately educated, multi millionaire mansion dwellers, hardly reflective of the ordinary man and woman of this country.
What Cameron and Clegg have done is to give themselves and their mates well-paid jobs in a cabinet of unprincipled people.
Having looked after themselves financially they now turn their attention to cutting six billion pounds in public finances.
The tough times ahead are aimed at people who are not responsible for the current economic crisis – the poor, those on benefits and public sector.
The cuts in public spending will have a knock-on effect on a private sector that is reliant on income and work from local authorities.
Clegg and Cameron have done a deal to support the greedy, the rich and the privileged.

Two days into the job and look what happens. Scotch Dave heads straight back to his ancestral Scottish homeland to do yet another stitch-up against the English taxpayers.
With not even one word spoken about English cancer sufferers being able to receive the same up-to-the-minute cancer treatments awarded to Scottish cancer sufferers and paid for by English taxpayers.
His predecessor, Gordon Brown, the Scottish caretaker in No 10 Downing Street send billions of pounds to refurbish the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, whilst our road networks in England deteriorate. Whilst no Englishman or woman can sit in the Scottish Parliament or the Welsh and Irish assemblies, the people of England are subject to these countries politicians interfering in English affairs.
England is, effectively, ruled by British politicians in our every unequal so-called democracy.
In the best interest of the English people, perhaps Mr Cameron, who says he is a firm supporter of devolution, would consider giving equal democratic rights to the people of England, who comprise 85 per cent of the British population through our very own English Parliament.

After running a negative campaign based on class envy for New Labour, the three unelected megalomaniacs, Mandelson, Campbell and Whelan suddenly find themselves forgotten nobodies.
With the corpse still warm on the morticians slab, an inquest into the death of New Labour has already begun. Having provided first class travel for the past 13 years, New Labour's gravy train has just pulled away, leaving the party's leaders and apologists stuck on the platform without a ticket. For them the free ride is over.
