WELCOME aboard Andy (‘Trams on rails’, YEP, January 7) but where is all the extra spoil going to go, in addition to that produced by my idea for a tunnel between the Horsforth to Harrogate line and Yeadon or Leeds-Bradford airport?
However, I think with modern tunnelling machinery, a tunnel would be cheaper than your cut and cover idea in this sandstone area. I have been pushing for such a tunnel for several years now and believe it to be the way to link Leeds railway station and the airport.
