Letter: Petrol shortages: it’s motorists’ fault

THERE is no-one else to blame for the fuel panic-buying other than the stupid, ignorant British people themselves, incapable of using one’s common sense.

Was it baked beans last time that we ran out of?

In an Olympic year we have proved ourselves to be champion headless chickens, running around frightened that the world is coming to an end.

The mentality of these people is beyond belief; they have got the life they deserve, being scared of their own shadows, leading a life of fear – and that is what Cameron and the Conservatives want, for the downtrodden working classes to live in fear of everything.

There is no democracy and no logic living in the UK.

If you stood inside a petrol station paying since this fiasco started and complaining about panic buying after you’d just filled your own tank when you didn’t need to, I hope your car breaks down this Easter on a dark, unlit road and that the AA have run out of fuel and can’t come and rescue you. Then you can ponder your own moronic actions at the pumps that are bringing this brain-dead nation to a standstill.

Go get another jerrycan and fill it with beans, just to be on the safe side.

Dan Cooney, Main Street, Guiseley
