Another piece in the jigsaw puzzle that is the regeneration of Leeds is completed tomorrow with the opening of the new southern entrance at the train station.
While London seems to snap its fingers and get £500m overhauls for its stations - witness the no-expenses-spared redevelopment at King’s Cross - Leeds has to make do with rather more piecemeal improvements.
The new entrance is more than welcome. It will provide a direct link to the growing South Bank area that promises to save passengers up to an hour of travelling time each week.
Up to 20,000 people a day are expected to use the new entrance. Enjoy.
