Former X Factor finalists G4 will be kicking off the countdown to Christmas in Leeds, it was announced today.

The classical singers have been confirmed as part of the line-up for the city’s 2014 festive lights switch-on party.

It will be the reunited group’s first public live performance together since 2007.

Other acts, celebrities and sporting heroes joining G4 at the lights extravaganza are due to be revealed shortly.

The switch-on bash will be staged in Victoria Gardens in the city centre on the evening of Thursday, November 13, and is expected to attract a 15,000-strong crowd.

Organised by Leeds City Council and radio station Heart, the event counts the Yorkshire Evening Post as a media partner.
