Woman seriously hurt after pursuit sees car crash into oncoming traffic on wrong side of Leeds road

A car travelling on the wrong side of a Leeds road has caused a serious crash, which has left one woman seriously injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident which happened after police were called to reports of a burglary at a commercial premises in Easterly Road, near Roundhay, Leeds, on Saturday at around 7.50pm.

On arrival officers saw people leaving in a red Ford Focus estate car. They pursued the car which drove towards oncoming traffic and collided with a Volkswagen Polo. A 54-year-old woman in the Polo was seriously injured. Her condition is critical but stable.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving. Witnesses should call 101 with information.
