Woman fights for life after grim discovery in Leeds

A WOMAN was fighting for her life today after being found with serious injuries in a parked car in Leeds.

The 51-year-old woman was discovered shortly after 3am on Sunday in the car on Mexborough Grove, Chapeltown.

She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where she was said to be in a “critical” condition.

Mexborough Grove was sealed off this morning as police carried out forensic and other specialist checks.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or other people who were in the area around the time the woman was found to contact North East Leeds CID via the 101 phone number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

A 53-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
