Police have appealed for witnesses after an armed robbery at a bookmakers in Mirfield.

Three men, with hoods up and black face coverings, entered the bookmakers on Huddersfield Road at about 9.40pm yesterday evening (Monday February 23).

One was armed with what is believed to be a handgun and the other two with hammers.

They removed cash from the till before fleeing through the front door.

DC Andy Clayton, of Kirklees CID, said: “We are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area around the time of this offence who believes they may have seen the men preparing to enter the bookmakers or making off afterwards, potentially getting in to a vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Kirklees CID on 101.”
