An awards evening to recognise the cream of the crop in the radio industry is heading to Leeds – and you could be a part of it.
The inaugural Audio and Radio Industry Awards (ARIAS) take place on Wednesday, October 19 at the city’s First Direct Arena, with Leeds’ very own Kaiser Chiefs headlining the night’s entertainment.
Other acts poised to perform include 80s favourite Rick Astley and Grammy award-winning artist Gregory Porter.
And the Yorkshire Evening Post has teamed up with Leeds Beckett University to offer readers the chance to claim a free pair of tickets to the event.
Along with LeedsBID (Leeds Business Improvement District), the university is supporting the awards with many of their students getting involved with the running and production of the event.
Andrew Fryer, Dean of the School of Film, Music and Performing Arts at Leeds Beckett, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the ARIAS and excited to see that the Kaiser Chiefs will be performing, particularly since the band includes two of our own graduates (lead singer Ricky Wilson and guitarist Andrew White) back in their home city.
“The event will give our students some fantastic opportunities to work on a large scale event and will no doubt help to inspire the radio industry talent of the future.”
To win tickets for the event just tell us, who is the frontman of the Kaiser Chiefs?
Send your answers with your name, address and daytime telephone number to firstname.lastname@example.org by midday on Friday, October 14.
