As a survey highlights the increasing popularity of staycations, we want your suggestions for the best short break spots in Yorkshire.

From countryside to coast to city, the county has it all. Research by Barclays Business found that 70 per cent of adults were planning to holiday at home in the UK in the next year.

While figures released by the Local Government Association revealed that Yorkshire enjoyed a 20 per cent increase in overnight stays in 2015, the second biggest growth region in the country.

Events such as the Tour de France Grand Depart have boosted interest in the area and pulled in visitors.

Settle hotel Falcon Manor, on the doorstep of the Dales, is one which has seen an increase in tourists. Marketing manager Heidi Kettle said:

“We’re not surprised at the results. Yorkshire is a fantastic place to visit and more and more people are enjoying the charms of the Dales. We are seeing increased numbers of guests each year discovering this fantastic area. It’s all great news for the region.”
