Firemen starring in a sizzling charity calendar have raised £1,400 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Firefighters from across West Yorkshire have featured in the Red Hot Dates calendar once again this year.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s annual fundraising drive has generated more than £100,000 for a range of charities, including £17,000 for the air ambulance charity, over the last 12 years.

The 2017 edition of Red Hot Dates is currently in production and will, for the first time, involve a free interactive fire safety app.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service assistant commander Dominic Furby, who came up with the calendar, said: “We support mainly local charities and have donated proceeds several times to Yorkshire Air Ambulance over the years.

“We work very closely with them, both at incidents and with their fundraisers, and know the brilliant work that they do.”
