A LEEDS charity which helps homeless people has unveiled a new shop in Pudsey.

The St George’s Crypt Preloved of Pudsey shop on Church Lane is designed to raise funds for the charity and help people who have fallen on hard times.

It will be used as a training centre for volunteers wishing to gain retail experience and as a carpentry workshop creating shabby chic furniture.

Chris Fields, chief executive officer of St George’s Crypt, said: “This is part of the wider strategy for St George’s within the city – to both increase our presence and also provide a bolthole, a beacon, for local vulnerable people to engage and become part of their communities.”
